Hello Again

Hello Again It's been far too long since we've had any updates, far too long. I can't say why we abandoned you but let's say that life happened. My comrades and I burned out on photography while we all went through some major changes. I can't get into their lives but...

Letting Go

At some point this stopped being fun. Not just this blog, but the entire photographic process. Before I go any further, think about that first sentence for a minute. A hobby that became turned into passion isn't fun anymore. It had gotten tedious and trying. Like any...

Photographers: Take Notice

As a photographer, you are not an artist. As a photographer, you are merely documenting life and other peoples works of art. As a photographer, you do not create art, you do not create anything, you simply take pictures of what others have created, including God's...

Photography: For Money or Love?

Photography. Why did you start taking photos? What do you hope to get from the act of being a "photographer"? The first question is easy to answer for most of us. You may have bought a camera to capture your child's first step. It could have been because you needed to...

Over the past month or so I just had not been feeling it.  Work was piling up, other interests were interceding, and the camera, aw that damned camera, was becoming a liability.  And having been on Flickr for nearly 2 1/2 years, I was growing tired of seeing the same...

Film Trouble

Over the past few months I've been shooting more film than digital for my personal projects. I like the weight and feel of the old cameras, the sounds they make and the nostalgic process of manual everything. The process of manual everything includes developing the...

Words

I had a conversation the other night in which a friend and I discussed the words we put in this box, whether photos should (and can) stand alone without words to give them meaning, allowing the viewer to come to his own conclusion as to what a photo means. Or should we (“we” being those that have this need to write) guide the viewer to seeing the photo as we see it, building upon it with our verbage?

Gear and Goals

People start off a fresh year with a set of resolutions ( or goals ) and most people abandon these resolutions within a few weeks if not sooner. I thought it'd be a good time to sit down and write up a few things about the past year or two and then where I'd like to...
