Thanks for sharing. The tension between my standards and abilities is, I think, precisely what has caused my resistance to photography of late. And if I take a critical look back at my past creative passions, chiefly acting and writing, I think I fell victim to the same pattern. Time to press on.

Fabulous advice.
Some people might see this as a watered down version of “walk it off”, but its something more.
I think that describing the dissatisfaction I had with my photography at one point was because my ambition exceeded my skill. The funny thing is that the more my skill increases, the more my ambition does!
